This is what we think about. This is why we started Dot Eco LLC. We firmly believe that the only way to avert global catastrophe is through the coordinated and immediate action of governments. They are the only organizations with the reach, the muscle, and the wherewithal to do this work. Our goal at Dot Eco is to make governments, and in particular the government of the United States, take the leadership that our survival demands.
Others before us – people smarter, people better schooled in the facts, political people, people with the ability to influence – have blazed a trail. As we conceived the idea of the .ECO top-level domain and developed its details, we were again and again drawn to just a few individuals and groups whose strengths and talents convinced us to stand behind them.
Our partners are Al Gore, the Sierra Club, the Alliance for Climate Protection, and Surfrider Foundation. These groups are our partners; these are the organizations to whom we will give the vast majority of the profits from .eco. These are the people who have the best chance of rousing governments into action. We want to give them millions to do it.
